Joy Dinio was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States at 18. She graduated from Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland and since then works as an educator and a freelancer photographer. In her personal work, she often looks into her homeland, educating young children from underserved communities, and capturing the human interaction with the natural environment. Her work has appeared in such publications as Dame Traveler, Passion Passport, 10 Magazine Korea, The Virginian-Pilot, and Nomad Lane, among others.
